We find, though, that there is a gap between 'knowing' that something is described as handmade, and understanding what that word entails. A dining table joined with dovetails that are cut by hand will outlast one held together with staples and glue by generations. An antique dealer who has spent thirty years learning to read a maker's mark, a patina, or a repair is offering you expertise that can't be easily replicated.

We made the Makers Series to introduce you to the creative people who make furnishings and décor that are cherished for generations.
